Sewing of Late

So, our church will be holding a sort of fall festival in about two weeks. I'm so excited about this. There will be apple bobbing and all sorts of autumn themed games for all ages. But the best part of all is that you have the opportunity to dress up as a Bible character. Yay! More reasons to sew! ;D

I am making my brother's, my sisters, as well as my costume. My brother has decided to go as Ehud, the man who killed King Eglon, in the book of Judges. My sister will be dressing up with a friend, completing the duo of Mary and Martha. Myself, I have decided on dressing as my favorite Old Testament lady, Ruth. :D

I'm so excited about this project. So much so, instead of sleeping in really late this morning, I headed out to the fabric store (that's a pretty big deal for my lazy bones :P).

So far the fabric has been bought for mine and my sisters. I'm waiting until this weekend to get my brother's. I have a coupon for 50% off one cut of fabric, and the deal for that is only on Saturday and Sunday.

I've also cut out my sister's dress and have already sewn the sash and veil. The neck hole is done two. Next come the sleeves. I tried getting them done too this evening, but never having sewn sleeves before, my brain was going into meltdown. If I did not stop then, I may have ended up throwing the whole idea of sewing these outfits down the drain. ;)

I'm pretty excited about these projects. I'm looking forward to expanding my sewing skills, as well as taking on a good challenge. I'm so thankful for this opportunity the LORD has blessed me with. :)

As soon as I'm done, I hope to post pictures of the completed outfits for you to enjoy!

Are you working on any sewing projects?

Have a wonderfully blessed day! Thanks for stopping by!

Well hello there! Thanks for stopping by! I LOVE to hear from you all out there. Just please remember to keep everything kind and Christ-like. In the words of that wise papa rabbit, "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all". :)
