To Make You Think

He who believes is strong; he who doubts is weak. Strong convictions precede great actions.
- Louisa May Alcott -

There is something that has been going through my mind of late. It's gone through my mind quite a bit over the years, but lately it has been there more and more. It's the area of developing convictions, and how to share those with other people.

When I say convictions, I mean those strong inner beliefs I hold in my life. Like my faith, reasoning behind being a stay at home daughter, health care, schooling, and other day to day beliefs. The beliefs that GOD has impressed upon my heart, through HIS word, and make me the person HE desires.

I care a lot about what others think about me. I'm so afraid of rejection from others at times, I stray away from topics like these. I've even come to the point of late in not blogging about those topics, for fear of "offending" someone. And I have become very upset with myself over this fact.

Why should I hide what convictions and beliefs the LORD has laid on my heart?

I know some may say some topics really don't matter, and only cause division.

But I tend to disagree with this. Most of the hard core topics, that make people think, are the most important and NEED to be discussed.

Why should they be discussed? I believe they should so people know where you stand in life. So there is no guessing, allowing complete and open honesty. And it also allows Christ's goodness, and even commands to be shown...

But there is another aspect of this. Explaining your thoughts and views in life in a kind, Christ like manner, without making others feel judged for how they live out their own convictions.

I guess that is why I have kind of strayed from more serious topics in conversations and blogging. I DO NOT want others to feel as if I am judging their lives, by how I live out my own.

GOD has made us all unique individuals in this life. HE has called us all down different paths. What HE has chosen for you, is more than likely not going to be the same for me.

It has never been on my mind, when expressing my beliefs, to make others feel judged. When I do express my beliefs(which is pretty rare unfortunately), I just want to share what the LORD has laid on my heart, and yes even at times, maybe make you think a way you have never thought before.

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. 1 Corinthians 4:5

With this being said, I may be tackling some more hard core subjects on here soon. Particularly in the realms I mentioned above.

My reasoning for that? Just so people know where I stand in the life the LORD has placed me, and to just share HIS goodness in making us all unique individuals. :)

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe. Proverbs 29:25

What are your opinions on this subject? Do you think certain topics should be avoided to not cause division? I'd love to hear your thoughts! :D

Have a wonderfully blessed day! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I do agree, Angel. I've been wanting to be more outspoken on my blog - and in my life - for a long time. Like you, I want to be liked and accepted; and so I try to avoid talking about serious things, or even about my faith.

Thanks for encouraging me to speak up ... I will support you in your outspokenness if you'll support me in mine! :-)

Well hello there! Thanks for stopping by! I LOVE to hear from you all out there. Just please remember to keep everything kind and Christ-like. In the words of that wise papa rabbit, "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all". :)
