Learning the Quiet Is Enough

Right now, I am sitting in my favorite chair, coffee and my planner by my side, bright sunshine pouring through the window, and the sound of my girls announcing the laying of an egg, filling the air. :)

Life has been very quiet of late.

And I will admit, that fact has put me in somewhat of a funk. You know the kind. The whole pity party, why me, I never get to do ANYTHING exciting kind of mood. Yeah...

So many around me are experiencing such wonderful events in their lives. Traveling, growing their family, new jobs, and I am over here dying laughing at the sad truth in this pic I found...

I am having to learn to be content in the season of life I am in right now. And the quietness it holds.

Valentines Breakfast For My Love
I truly have no reason to feel bad for myself. GOD has been so good!

There is no sign of cancer in my body, my hair is growing back, physically I feel amazing, and I experience PMS again. WOOT-WOOT!!! (you might be thinking TMI, but hey, I was thinking after 6 months of no cycle, I had lost my fertility. That first overwhelming craving for chocolate and day full of tears was a WELCOME sight...). :D

I've also been blessed to spend some time working along side Justin, clearing the homesite on our land.

And hey! I am only about 20% from reaching my pre-chemo deadlift, and I got to drag my husband to every thrift store and antique shop I could think of this past Saturday. :)

I am having to relearn and to remember to be thankful for the many, quiet Friday nights spent coloring. That is what GOD has placed in my life right now. Not some grand adventure.

And that has to be enough.

“I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.”
― Laura Ingalls Wilder

Has life been quiet, or full of adventure for you? What lesson is GOD teaching you in this season of your life?

Have a wonderfully blessed day everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Oh, oh, oh. I love and appreciate who you are, Angel.

Blessinsg to you (and I thank our good Father!) for his giving the the sight needed to see your blessings. I have been there before ... wishing and wanting for a new adventure, a new rental, some chickens, children ... The list almost never ends.

But it is in the moments we are given that we blossom and grow and develop because we're taking the time to be quiet and hear the "knock at our door."

For me, right now, it is a season beginning to quiet. It had been busy (almost too busy) even though I loved the adventures we were taking ... I wish I had enjoyed them more. But for now it seems that all is becoming quiet again. I'm keeping busy crafting in my spare time and reading more.

Also, we're planner twinsies! :) I *love* mine. Did you find it at Hobby lobby?

    Blessings to you!

    1. I appreciate you Frannie, and the kind words you share. :) I love that thought of it being a time to be quiet and wait for the next calling the LORD has in store.

YOU HAVE THE SAME PLANNER! How neat is that! Yes, it is from my second home (aka Hobby Lobby). I love mine too. The setup is so neat and organized, with room for creativity. :D

  3. It sounds so trite to say, "Hang in there", but please do, "Hang in there!" If God knows you want a little excitement in your life, He will no doubt send it in a big way and you will eventually long for a quiet day :) I have enjoyed your blog!

    1. Thank you for visiting my blog! :Do

Oh, I am "hanging in there". :) I know GOD has something great in store for the future. I have just always been a tad impatient... A trait HE is working on with me daily. ;)

  4. I often wonder if you ever received the swap parcel that I sent you from England, having not heard from you.

    1. Oh! I did receive the lovely package. :D I had responded to one of your earlier comments about it, and even told the host of its arrival. You do have a little something in the mail to express my gratitude,as well. :)

  5. I love your quote from Dr. Seuss at the end. Should the Lord bless you with children one day, no doubt you will look back on these times and wish that you could experience that again for one day. A day to yourself with quiet! I look back to those times and think "My goodness why didn't I appreciate that!" The grass is always greener and no matter where we are and what we have we struggle with contentment (A sign that this world is not our home, I think). Still, I know it is your heart's desire to have children and I will pray that for you. :)

    1. Thank you for your sweet words Tiffany! What a beautiful thought. That maybe our constant discontent as human beings, is the revealing we are not meant for this world. I needed to hear that. :)

Well hello there! Thanks for stopping by! I LOVE to hear from you all out there. Just please remember to keep everything kind and Christ-like. In the words of that wise papa rabbit, "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all". :)
